"They filed Affidavits in Court supporting CBC. Today they are shouting loud that CBC is not viable."

Former Law society of Kenya President Nelson Havi has lashed out at Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and their sibling movement Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET).

In a statement on Saturday, Havi accused the two unions of dishonesty saying they supported CBC when he filed a case against it in court.

He condemned the two bodies for fashioning themselves as those against the curriculum yet they supported it.

"Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) and Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET) officials are a dishonest lot. They filed Affidavits in Court supporting CBC. Today they are shouting loud that CBC is not viable and should be scrapped. Can they concede in Court?" Havi tweeted.

The issue of CBC has elicited sharp reactions among Kenyans with a section calling for its disbandment while another saying it should remain in place.

President William Ruto said he will form a taskforce to review the CBC and advise on the way forward.

Under the current CBC programme, Junior secondary schools are set to start in 2023.

Many parents are worried about the future of the programme considering the debate surrounding its suitability.
