Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed plans to reward a lady who nicknamed him Riggy G.

In an interview with Citizen TV, Gachagua said he has instructed his sons to look for the girl for giving him a name that he says he has positively taken.

Gachagua said he will set aside some cash from his salary to boost the economic fortunes of the girl so that she can be able to change her life for good.

"The young lady who decided that Rigathi Gachagua name is a little bit difficult and not melodious, we need to give him the name Riggy G. I said it is a good name. To encourage our young people, I took up the name," Gachagua said.

"I have told my sons to look for that girl to come we have dinner. I want o encourage that young girl. I want would see what I can do for her so that from my salary I can boost her to do something," he stated. 

The name Riggy G went viral on social media after the Deputy President made some errors while taking oath of office during his inauguration as Deputy President.

The DP while being asked by Registrar of Judiciary Anne Amadi to state the words as she was stating them ended up saying his own words.

This led to the coining of the name of Riggy G, ostensibly insinuating that he had become a disc jogger for mixing the original words with his own.

The name Riggy G originated from Ivy Chelimo, a law graduate and lifestyle influencer who is an alumna of Catholic University.

Ivy said the name had made her famous and even attracted a huge social media following though she said she did not expect the name will make her popular.
