The members include MPs Nelson Koech, Rahab Mukami, Ali Rasso Dido, George Gitonga, David Gikaria, Ferdinand Wanyonyi, Mary Emase, Abdul Rahim Dawood and Junet Mohamed.

Others were Caleb Khamisi, Stephen Mule, Abdi Shurie, Naisula Lesuuda, David Pkosing and Mishi Mboko.

Ichung’wah said that as per the directive of National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, the committee needed to be set up by October 12.

“We are at least within time to have this committee in place and are member are also aware that President William Ruto did convey a message to the House nominating for the appointment of certain persons to offices of Attorney General Secretary to the Cabinet and those who will take office as cabinet Secretaries,” the Kikuyu MP stated.

The appointment of the committee comes after Azimio maintained that it shall direct its MPs to withhold the approval of CSs with active criminal cases who were nominated by the President.

In a statement by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Friday, September 30, the party said that the Cabinet selection by the Head of State was questionable.

“The selection of Cabinet secretaries, some of which have active criminal cases is questionable. This was not procedurally done, on the basis of competencies and personal integrity, and we shall direct our MPs to withhold approval of those who do not meet the Chapter Six threshold of our Constitution,” read the statement.
