The National Police Service has advertised the position of former DCI boss George Kinoti.

The National Police Service (NPS) on Thursday, September 29, advertised the position of the Director of Criminal Investigation following the resignation of George Kinoti.

According to NPS, it is mandated to recommend persons suitable for the position to the President for appointment.

“Pursuant to section 30 as read together with section 29 and 30 of the NPS Act No.11A of 2011 Revised (2017), the Commission is mandated to recommend to the President persons for appointment as Director of Criminal Investigations,” NPS stated.

For one to be considered for the position, they must be a Kenyan citizen and hold a degree from a recognized university in Kenya.

They must also hold at least ten years’ proven experience at the management level of a public institution and have knowledge and experience in criminal investigation or policing.

The relevant experience in the position include: management; law, economics, change management, finance, governance or public administration.

Interested applicants should also meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution as well as clear with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC), Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) and the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB), Credit Reference Bureau (CRB) and the DCI.

Each application should be accompanied by a detailed curriculum vita, copies of relevant academic and professional testimonials and application to be clearly marked “Application for the position of Director of Criminal Investigations”.

All applications should reach the Chairperson of the National Police Service on or before Thursday, 6th October, 2022.

President William Ruto announced the resignation of Kinoti on Tuesday, September 27, during the unveiling of his Cabinet at State House.
