"About nine hours later, the wife called back and informed me that he had been found dead in the Kieni forest."

The Wife of the slain Kiambu engineer George Mwangi, who was discovered dead at Kieni Forest, Kiambu County, had a conversation with his mother before his missing and after he was found dead.

Priscilla Wanjiru, the mother of the 58-year-old deceased man, talked to former Kiambu Woman Rep Gladys Chania who had reported to her that the son had disappeared.

She said upon receiving the report from her about his missing, she advised her to report the matter to the police.

"The wife called me to inform me that he was missing. I urged her to report the matter to the police station for officers to take action," she said in an interview with the media Sunday evening.

According to her, the wife called her again a few hours later to inform her of the tragic news that the son was dead.

"About nine hours later, the wife called back and informed me that he had been found dead in the Kieni forest. She said she had been called to identify the body."

The shocked mother said the two lived seemingly well since they never had issues that caught their attention.

She said the two, however, stayed far from them and would therefore visit them once in a while hence it would be difficult to know if there were issues among themselves.

She said she met him two days before he was reported missing at a family function where they were celebrating a birthday party of his grandparents.
