"I would put my net worth at around Sh4 billion," Mudavadi.

The nominee for the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said that he is worth around sh4 billion.

The former leader of Amani National Congress was put in the spotlight regarding his wealth during the vetting by the Committee on Appointments on Monday, October 17.

"If I take my investments in shares in some companies and also the properties that I own, I would put my net worth at around Sh4 billion," Mudavadi told the vetting committee led by Speaker Moses Wetang'ula.

The nominee for the Prime Cabinet Secretary also denied that he grabbed public property in Woodley estate.

"I have not been linked to any land-grabbing scandal. I stayed in Woodley and to this day we pay rent to Nairobi County. EACC at the time went on a tangent that they had not confirmed & I even filed a suit on defamation. In my view, it was a witch-hunt at that time

Speaker Moses Wetang'ula

At the same time, Speaker Moses Wetang’ula ruled that the Prime CS position is legally sound and constitutionally grounded after a section of Azimio MPs questioned its constitutionality.

"The committee has already received a total of 22 memorandums to various CS nominees which shall be disclosed to nominees during their vetting. According to our constitution, the president is allowed to have not less than 14 or more than 22 cabinet slots, and I hereby confirm that the Prime Cabinet Secretary is within the law," Wetang'ula stated.
