Nominees appearing for vetting were required to provide a number of documents.

Interior Cabinet Secretary Nominee Kithure Kindiki on Tuesday presented himself before the parliamentary committee on appointment for vetting.

While appearing for vetting, however, Kindiki failed to produce his National Identity Card which he said he had forgotten.

"I forgot my National ID chair, but I have sent for it it is on the way," Kindiki said.

Nominees appearing for vetting were required to provide a number of documents.

The candidates are required to present before the committee their original IDs, academic and professional certificates, as well as letters of clearance and compliance from EACC, KRA, HELB, DCI and CRB.

The vetting exercise runs through to Saturday, October 22, with the exception of Thursday, October 20, when the country will observe Mashujaa Day.

On Monday, five cabinet secretaries were vetted.

They include Prime Cabinet nominee Musalia Mudavadi, Justin Muturi, the Attorney General nominee, Defense CS nominee Aden Duale, Alfred Mutua (Foreign and Diaspora Affairs) and their Water, Sanitation and Irrigation counterpart Alice Wahome.
