The Public Service and Gender CS nominee has revealed her net worth.

Public Service and Gender CS nominee Aisha Jumwa has revealed that she is worth Sh100 million.

Appearing before the Parliament vetting committee on Tuesday, October 18, the former Malindi MP said that her source of income was the pension from Parliament.

"I am worth Sh100 million," Jumwa told National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula.

She said that she owned a house in Malindi and another in Nairobi, maintaining that they contributed to Sh85 million of her net worth when combined.

"I have a house in Malindi and in Nairobi. Those two combined are 85 million and the rest are side hustles. I am a hustler. I have two cars and the rest were salaries which I stopped earning in September," Jumwa said.

The former MP had a tough time composing herself while answering the questions from the panel as he broke down into tears.

Jumwa narrated a difficult childhood as her parents struggled to provide for her and her other 27 siblings.

"My parents were poor. They used to struggle to provide for me and my other 27 siblings," Jumwa said while fighting back tears.

It took the intervention of the Speaker to calm the situation, who asked her to compose herself as many had walked the same journey.

Responding to a question from National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung'wah on whether she owned a firearm and had ever used it, Jumwa denied.

"I don't own a gun and I have never in my life applied for a gun," Jumwa stated.

Reacting to queries on the cases that had been filed against her, Jumwa said that her cases were politically instigated.

"As I have been saying, these cases were politically motivated. I still stand strong and saying it again here that they were politically instigated and I am happy because this country is a country of law. The DPP dropped the case touching on misappropriation of funds," Jumwa stated.
