Miguna had announced that he will arrive in Kenya at 6 am after years of exile.

Exiled Lawyer Miguna Miguna on Thursday morning arrived at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in Nairobi around 6 am as he had anticipated.

The lawyer arrived aboard a Kenya Airways plane.

He had been in exile since 2018 after former President Uhuru Kenyatta's government forced him out of the country.

Attempts for him to come back were blocked by the then government despite the existence of court orders directing them to allow Miguna into the country.

Red alerts were also imposed on him making it tough for him to travel back to the country.

His deportation was linked to the mock swearing-in of ODM leader Raila Odinga s people president in January 2018.

The alerts were however lifted after President William Ruto took power, Miguna announced.

"The government of William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua has lifted the Red Alerts Uhuru Kenyatta illegally imposed against me with the connivance of Raila Odinga.

"My arrival: October 20 at 6am. The Rule of law, fearlessness, persistence and focus have prevailed," Miguna said in a tweet on October 12.
