The quartet is linked to the disappearance of two Indian nationals charged with overseeing William Ruto's presidential campaign technology.

Four officers attached to the disbanded Special Service Unit (SSU) under the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) are set to be arraigned on Monday, October 24.

The quartet was arrested on Friday, October 21, after day-long interrogations by the Internal Affairs Unit (IAU).

They are linked with the disappearance of two Indian nationals in the company of their driver.

Mohamed Zaid Sami Kidwai, Zulfiqar Ahmad Khan, and their driver, a Nicodemus Mwania Mwange, went missing on July 24, 2022.

The Indian duo had been part of a team charged with overseeing President William Ruto's campaign technology.

The duo arrived in Kenya in April to be part of Ruto's ICT team but disappeared in July after being kidnapped outside Ole Sereni Hotel off Mombasa road.

On Friday, October 21, Ruto's chief social media activist Dennis Itumbi alleged that the disappearance of the duo was actualised by the embattled DCI SSU.

"This was one unit that was literally used to kidnap, assault, maim and kill innocent people. They targeted those who supported the election of Ruto as President," Itumbi stated.

He said that Zaid was a good guy and when he first met him, he gave him his card and promised to support President Ruto's online campaign strategy.

Itumbi further claimed that Zaid and Ahmad had invited him to visit India but promised to do that after the general election.

"Zaid and Ahmad were just good people who became my friends and in the process connected with some in our team. They visited Mombasa, Homabay, Mara, Nyama Choma joints, and damn they loved our dance joints too," he said.

The blogger alleged that the duo lost their phones during one night out before returning home and he went to look for them at their usual location but did not find them and they could not be reached.

"Just the other day, I finally got to know their painful last moments in the hands of people whose only mission was to ensure Ruto does NOT become President even if it means killing people," Itumbi said.

He claimed that the evidence of the incident was disturbing and overwhelming.
