Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed that Azimio leader Raila Odinga will unveil his shadow cabinet once he is back from his trip to India.

Speaking in Homa Bay County on Saturday, October 22, the former Vice President said that the shadow Cabinet will keep the government in check.

Kalonzo claimed that President William Ruto was expecting to be the leader of the opposition, asking him to respect the opposition in the country.

"I want to ask President William Ruto, he himself was expecting to be the leader of the opposition. Hii kitu aliangukia. Basi apeane heshima for official opposition of this country.

"Hivi karibuni baba akirudi, we are going to announce our shadow cabinet because we want to hold them to account. Complete with our own budget which will be presented. We have only this country to call home. Hatuna mahali pa kwenda," Kalonzo stated.

His remarks come after the special committee vetting Cabinet nominees appointed by President Ruto retreated to prepare a report.

The committee, led by National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetangula, concluded the vetting of the nominees on Friday, October 21.

Wetangula said that the committee would adhere to the Constitution as they consider the suitability of the CS nominees. 

"As we retreat to consider the suitability of the nominees for the positions they have been nominated to, we shall endeavour to adhere to the provisions of the Public Appointments (Parliamentary Approval)Act and the Constitution," Wetangula stated.
