Defence CS nominee Aden Duale has sent a moving message to Members of Parliament after his resignation as an MP for Garissa Township.
Speaking in Parliament on Wednesday, October 26, Duale asked the MPs not to abandon their constituents who elected them into office.
"When you got elected, you made a pact with your people. Keep your focus, serve your people . Don't let the lights and shillings of the city fool you. Don't abandon your people, don't switch off your phones. You were elected to solve problems," Duale told the MPs.
Duale urged the lawmakers not to disappear from their constituency as they will later seek re-election from their people.

On his nomination as the Defence CS, he promised to work with the MPs, maintaining that they should not hesitate to ask for his help.
Duale said he will make time for the MPs unless their visits to his office becomes too frequent to the extent of affecting his work.
"If any one of you wants my help, please do not hesitate to visit my office. I will make time for you. You will not wait unless of course if you become too frequent and make it difficult for me to do my job," Duale told MPs.
His resignation comes after the MPs on Tuesday approved all Cabinet nominees that were appointed by President William Ruto.
