The frustrated passenger was to attend his brother's wedding in Accra, Ghana.

There has been a standoff at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in the wake of the strike staged by pilots.

A frustrated passenger was captured brawling with flight officials as they strived to calm him down.

He demanded his fare back, stating that his flight to Accra, Ghana, had been affected.

"I can't calm down because I’m up there so you come up here with me. If you have issues with your government, go deal out there. I’m doing business with you, I bought my ticket so deal with me the way I dealt with you; I gave you my money, fly me back to Ghana," he is heard saying.

The captains through their Kenya Airline Pilots Association (Kalpa) umbrella are seeking the reinstatement of the suspended provident fund.

The association said they would not resume operations until the fund is reinstated.

The strike saw several scheduled flights cancelled.

Kenya Airways in a statement Saturday morning asked travellers to stop contacting them if their travels are not within 48 hours.

The company said they had received numerous calls since the strike by the KALPA was announced.

"Due to the ongoing unlawful industrial action by Kenya Airline Pilots Association (KALPA), we are experiencing high call volumes at our customer excellence Centre. Kindly contact us if you are travelling within 48 hours. Kindly accept our apologies for the inconvenience," the statement directing them to contact them via email,

On Friday, the airline indicated the industrial action by pilots could see it lose at least $2.5 million close to (Sh300 million) every day.
