The video of the NYS officer cleaning Ababu Namwamba's shoes has since gone viral.

Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba has offered a National Youth Service (NYS) officer who was captured cleaning his shoes an opportunity to serve as a member of his staff.

In a tweet on Tuesday, November 8, Namwamba said that the officer, Dickson Loyerer, offered to clean his muddy shoes on Monday during an event at the NYS headquarters.

The CS said that he met with Loyerer on Tuesday at his office where, they had a cup of tea before he requested him to join his staff.

Namwamba further stated that Loyerer, who works at the NYS headquarters, offered him a few tips from NYS on grooming and discipline.

"Dickson Loyerer yesterday graciously volunteered to clean my muddy shoes after a tree planting session at NYS Headquaters where he works. Today we shared a cup of tea in my office, where he gave me NYS tips on grooming, discipline and skills. I have requested Loyerer to join my staff," Namwamba stated.

A video clip of Loyerer cleaning Namwamba's shoes went viral on Monday with a lot of mixed reactions from netizens.

In the video, the CS was heard asking Loyerer whether they accept a tip, an indicator that he wanted to reward the youth with a small token.

However, the NYS officer said they don't accept tips before he later shook hands with the CS after completing cleaning his shoes.
