Inside 2nd Lady Dorcas Gachagua's Special Plan to Empower Boychild

Second first lady Pastor Dorcas Gachagua has expressed her commitment to bringing back the lost glory in boy child in the face of robust girl child empowerment.

She observes that a lot of young men had been lost in drug abuse their female counterparts get elevated on all fronts of importance.

According to Dorcas, young men would irredeemably sink into alcoholism and subsequently depression if apt measures are not put in place.

Among the initiatives she purposes to undertake include enrolling the unschooled in the Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) to prepare them for the job market, not sideling self-employment.

Additionally, she is optimistic her cause would help support young men to realise their talents in sports and other fields of art.

To complement this would be the nationwide financial empowerment programs for men which she said would be launched soon.

The project would be in partnership with the Kenya Union of Savings and Credit Cooperatives (KUSCCO).

Earlier, the lady cleric had said the empowerment would give men their financial freedom, adding that she is partnering with cooperatives to realise the objective.

"As a government, we are very sure that we are going to partner with SACCOs and change the economy from the bottom, up. The bottom-up movement started from the cooperative movement, and these (SACCOs) are the answers to the future of Kenya; our youth, women, and vulnerable, and they also create a thriving and vibrant economy," said Dorcas.
