Health journalist Mercy Korir has been appointed the new AAR Hospital Business Manager.

Standard Media Group Health and Science Editor Dr. Mercy Korir has been appointed the Business Development Manager at AAR Hospital.

In a statement on Tuesday, November 15, AAR Hospital CEO Ken Muma described Dr. Korir as an experienced health practitioner.

"AAR Hospital is pleased to welcome Dr. Mercy Korir as the new business development manager in charge of business development. Dr. Korir brings with her a wealth of nine years' experience, four of those as a practicing medical doctor, five in media and health communications and two years in resource management," read part of the statement by Muma.

Muma further said that Dr. Korir previously worked in counties and several private hospitals and is registered by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council and the Media Council of Kenya (MCK).

The AAR Hospital CEO said that the health journalist will oversee the hospital's external communication and brand positioning, among other duties.

"As the Hospital's Business Development Manager, Dr. Korir will oversee the hospital's external communication and brand positioning, establish new business lines and new revenue streams," Muma stated.

Dr. Korir was Standard Group's Employee of the Year in 2020 and was awarded the Presidential Order of Service award in the same year for her medical reporting during the COVID-19 pandemic period.

The AAR Hospital CEO said that Dr. Korir was excited for the new opportunity to work with talented teams at the hospital.

"Dr Korir is excited about the opportunity to work with talented and creative teams at AAR Hospital where she hopes to bring to bear her quest to innovate and stretch the horizon and thereby, position AAR Hospital as the choice health provider for Kenyans," Muma stated.
