Keagan, who had recently graduated from Strathmore University, was stabbed in the chest by robbers on a motorcycle.

On October 30, a group of armed thugs attacked Keagan Githua in the Ridgeways area in Kiambu, stabbed him to death, and escaped with his mobile phone and other valuables.

The horrific incident left family and friends in a devastating situation as they still come to terms with the fact that their kin is no more.

But even as his family regret his death, detectives from the Directorate of criminal investigations had to piece together leads that could see the suspects arrested.

After weeks of an intelligence-led operation, the DCI operatives on Tuesday morning conducted a dawn operation that saw a suspect arrested at a city toilet.

It is from there that three other suspects were arrested.

"The detectives based at DCI-Starehe mounted a dawn operation that began at a city toilet along River Road, where they pounced on the first suspect before heading to Githurai, where the rest were arrested and the deceased’s smartphone recovered," the DCI statement reads in part.

According to DCI boss Mohamed Amin, they studied the modus Operandi of the gang and established that the gang operates from the Githurai area.
