Former Nairobi Governor aspirant Polycarp Igathe has landed a new job months after losing the election held on August 9.

Igathe will be joining Johannesburg-based Tiger Brands as Chief Growth Officer – Rest of Africa effective December 1, 2022.

Igathe has worked with big brands in Kenya including Equity Bank, and Vivo energy among others.

He quit as Equity's chief operations officer to join Nairobi gubernatorial race which he lost to Johnson Sakaja.

In addition to the company's South African operations, Tiger Brands has direct and indirect interests in international food businesses in Chile, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Nigeria, Kenya, and Cameroon.

“I look forward to the diverse set of capabilities and knowledge of the continent that Polycarp will bring to driving the execution of our ambitious growth strategy for the Rest of Africa business and his broader contribution to the development and execution of the Tiger Brands business strategy,” a statement by the company about Igathe's appointment read.

Tiger Brands is South Africa's largest food company.
