Paul Ongili Owino aka Babu Owino was born and raised in Kisumu.
The flamboyant Embakasi East MP burst into the limelight after he was elected president of the Student Organization of Nairobi University (SONU) in 2011 and went on to become the longest-serving Student Leader.
He made his first attempt at National Politics in 2013 when he participated in the ODM nominations for the Westlands Constituency through ODM but lost to incumbent Tim Wanyonyi.
He, however, succeeded in August 2017, this time as Member of Parliament for Embakasi East still on an ODM ticket.
The youthful legislator has mastered the art of catching his attention by being a strong orator and using figures of speech.
