Willis Raburu announced that he tendered his resignation on Monday morning.

Media Personality Willis Raburu has resigned as the chair of the Nairobi Festival Committee.

In a statement on Monday morning, Raburu said he has officially tendered his resignation even as he thanked Governor Johnson Sakaja for the opportunity to serve the people of the county.

"This morning, I have officially informed the leadership of the county that I will no longer be serving in my current role as the chair of the Nairobi  Festival Community," Raburu stated.

"It has been an honor to work alongside Governor Sakaja and his administration and I would like to express my deep gratitude for the trust and opportunity that they have extended to me during my time here."

Governor Johnson Sakaja chaired the Nairobi Festival Committee meeting attended by Willis Raburu when he was chair.

Raburu joined the county government after exiting Citizen TV.

Raburu expressed hope that his exit will not deal a blow service delivery of the committee saying systems are already in place to get the work done.

"I firmly believe with the right structural adjustments and a collective commitment to positive change, we can pave the way for a brighter future. My hope is that this decision will serve as a catalyst for the necessary transformation that our county deserves," he said.

He added:

"I remain dedicated to supporting the county from a different vantage point and I will continue to work towards the betterment of our community."
