Fred Arocho has announced his exit from Royal Media Services' Citizen TV. 

Renowned sports journalist Fred Arocho has announced his exit from Citizen TV after four years.

In a statement on Wednesday, March 6, Arocho informed his fans that he would no longer be part of Citizen TV’s Sporty Monday Show.

The veteran journalist thanked the Royal Media Services (RMS) management for allowing him to serve in the media house.

Arocho also gave special regards to the Head of RMS Sports Centre Isaac Swila and his fellow panelists Mukami Wambora, Steve Shitera, and Zitah Jimoi.

“It’s been 4 yrs of great moments at Citizen TV’s Sporty Monday Show. As I pen off, may I take this opportunity to thank the management of Royal Media Service for the opportunity to serve, fellow panelists Mukami Wambora, Steve Shitera, and Zitah Jimoi, special regards to The Head of RMS Sports Centre Isaac Swila for the memorable moments at work. I have truly enjoyed every bit of my stay,” Arocho stated.

Arocho also works as a sports presenter in Cape Media-owned Radio 47 after he left Radio Jambo in 2023.

His exit from Citizen TV comes days after RMS announced the creation of the RMS Sports Centre.

In an internal memo by Group Editorial Director Linus Kaikai seen by nairobileo.co.ke, RMS consolidated the group’s sports news across all platforms to be under the RMS Sports Centre.

Kaikai also reorganized the sports team and promoted and appointed Young Muthomi as the Managing Editor, Radio News and Sports in charge of the RMS Sports Centre.

Swila was promoted and appointed the Head of RMS Sports Centre in charge of coordinating sports coverage needs across all platforms.
