Singer Bahati has been accused of stealing his new song featuring Nadia Mukami from Rwandan singer Butera Knowless' original song dubbed Peke Yangu.

Madini Classic's Manager Shadrack Esenkay Kube took to Instagram where he called out Bahati for jacking the song and lacking originality in his new album.

He posted Peke Yangu song which was released in July 2015 and Bahati's Pete Yangu that was released two days ago and has over a million views on YouTube.

"Some will say oooh haters wana hate sijui nini, Look, you can’t be stealing tracks plus the melody the way they are then come here to tell us shit. I repeat, I expected a lot from bahati. Views utapata tena mob sana lakini I’m disappointed sana na @bahatikenya," the Manager said.

However, some fans disagreed with Kube's take arguing that the two songs are not similar. Bahati's fans accused the manager of clout chasing and hating on the success of the song.

Bahati's new album Love Like This has been praised by the gospel and secular music sectors in Kenya.

Before the launch of the album KFCB Boss Dr Ezekiel Mutua's announced they had cancelled a Ksh200,000 partnership deal with Bahati.

"We have cancelled the over 200 kshs cash and other support in kind to musician Bahati after posting videos which contravened our clean content and partnership policy. I consider it lack of imagination for an artist to think that content has to be dirty or sexualized to sell," Mutua said.
