Deputy President William Ruto has been working tirelessly with an aim of making inroads in areas perceived to be opposition strongholds including; Coast, Western and some areas of Nyanza specifically Kisii region.

On Tuesday, the DP raided a numbers of grassroot leaders and ward reps from the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) and the Amani National Congress (ANC) parties.

In a series of tweets, the DP noted that a number of ODM MCAs from the Coast and ANC MCAs from Vihiga, Kakamega and Trans Nzoia had resolved to work with him.

One of the notable leaders who joined the DP's brigade is former ANC Secretary General Barrack Muluka.

“Met Mombasa County MCAs from ODM that included Abdalla Shebe (Jomvu Kuu), Charles Kitula (Freretown), Fahad Kassim (Mjambere) and Abrari Omar (Kongowea) and Wiper Democratic Movement’s Faith Mwende (Kipevu) in the company of Nyali MP @MohaJichoPevu & former Senator @HassanOmarH… Discussed issues affecting their electorate and how we can work together to improve the lives of ordinary residents,” the DP tweeted.

“Hosted a group of ANC grassroot leaders, including some MCAs from Vihiga, Kakamega and Trans-Nzoia Counties, who endorsed the hustlers movement philosophy of empowerment…This will ensure that lives of ordinary Kenyans are bettered and every dream is supported and gets a fair opportunity to be realised…We are steadily changing the national conversation to focus on empowerment rather than power; jobs creation instead of positions for a few, and shifting from top-down to the bottom-up leadership approach,” he tweeted.

The new recruits are expected to spread the Hustler movement ideology in their respective locations as the DP endeavors to make inroads in all corners of the country.
