Kenya National Bureau of Statistics has announced that it is looking for Kenyans to fill the position of Field interviewers on a paid contract.

The bureau is the sole Government agency mandated with collecting, analyzing, publishing, and disseminating official statistical information and has patterned with other stakeholders in an upcoming project.

The agency is looking for individuals to work on a project for 2022, dubbed Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (2022 KDHS), that will run for six months.

"The Kenya National Bureau of Statistics in collaboration with other stakeholders will be undertaking the 2022 Kenya Demographic and Health Survey (2022 KDHS) for a period of six (6) months," the statement read in part.

Field Interviewer responsibilities:

Interested applicants are notified that they will be; identifying all eligible respondents in the selected households and administering

the relevant questionnaires appropriately, locating the structures and households in the sample clusters, checking completed interviews to ensure that all questions were asked and the responses accurately recorded.

Additionally, they will be required to return to households to interview respondents who could not be interviewed during the initial visit and provide a link between supervisors and respondents where callbacks are needed.

Eligibility:

Must be a Kenyan citizen;

Should have completed at least secondary school level of education, with a minimum of C- (minus) or it is equivalent and a Certificate/Diploma;

Applicants with Bachelor Degrees from a recognized institution will have an added advantage;

Must be conversant with the main local language/dialect of the area of work;

Should possess good communication skills;

Should be a team player;

Must be available for an uninterrupted seven (7) months from the date of recruitment.

Applicants are mandated to fill and submit the hard copy forms to the County Statistics Office and attach their copies of academic, professional, and other relevant certificates, transcripts, and testimonials.

KNBS notifies them to submit on or before November 19 with successful applicants contacted.
