Tanzanian boxer Karim Mandonga has spoken after trouncing his Kenyan opponent Daniel Wanyonyi.

The duo faced off in a 10-round middle-weight bout at the KICC on Saturday, January 14.

Mandonga, who also has an alias of 'Mtu Kazi', took over the ring in the fifth round and ultimately won the duel after a technical knock-out.

In the first few moments into the fight, Wanyonyi had appeared to subdue Mandonga, with many concluding the Tanzanian loudmouth would be floored after all.

Mandonga, however, managed to pull a comeback, winning the non-title contest that curtain-raised the main fight.

Boxers Karim Mandonga and Daniel Wanyonyi weighing in the Nairobi CBD on Friday, January 13, ahead of their fight a day later.

Speaking after the win, the Tanzanian sensational pugilist said his big-mouth nature prepared the way for his win.

He suggested that his opponent got scared by the hype and excitement that surrounded his presence in the fight.

"My fists are from Ukraine where bombs are flying. It is known as 'sungunyo'. They (fists) have to work anywhere. We have to promote the event before it happens. Which other boxer is a loudmouth? Many boxers lose because they do not have a big mouth," he stated hysterically.



He thanked the Tanzanian government for support from the day he landed in Nairobi, and his family and fans for rallying behind him during the fight.

Kenyans had earlier hailed him for publicising the event ahead of the d-day.
