Political analyst Herman Manyora has broken silence after President William Ruto's warm welcome in Nyanza.

Political analyst Herman Manyora has sensationally claimed that Azimio leader Raila Odinga might have been compromised by President William Ruto.

Speaking to NTV on Monday, January 16, Manyora stated that he was astonished on how the Head of State was welcomed in Raila Odinga’s Nyanza backyard.

“Any of these guys would have been bought, it’s possible because it clearly just can’t be anything else. It can be either they have been compromised or this is strategy they are employing, it can’t be anything between there,” Manyora claimed.

He however stated that Raila is still the kingpin of the Luo Nyanza region despite some politicians defying him.

“Raila is the undisputed leader of the Luo people, just as he is a leader to many Kenyans outside Luo land. To try and wish him away merely because he didn’t become the President is to be Naïve.

“Raila is a master of reinvention, just when you think he is down he reinvents himself that’s why he is the enigma he is. I don’t think the time for Raila to leave Nyanza politics is now,” Manyora added.

His remarks come a day after Siaya Governor James Orengo asked President William Ruto to have a meeting with the former Prime Minister for the unity of the country.

“Mr. President I ask you in the spirit not of the handshake but in the spirit of togetherness. I urge you to sit together on the table of brotherhood with your brother Raila Amolo Odinga because the elections are over,” Orengo said on Saturday, January 14.
