Kimilili Member of Parliament Didmus Barasa now wants Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s tailor to be honoured with a Head of State Commendation (HSC).

According to the UDA lawmaker, Rigathi Gachagua has transformed in terms of his dressing and looks like a 35-year-old christian son of Mau Mau.

“In my honest opinion our Deputy President Rigathi’s tailor should make it to the list of Kenyans to be bestowed with a Head of State Commendation HSC....Nowadays Kenyas second in command, looks exactly like a 35 year old Christian and truthful MAU MAU son,” Barasa tweeted on Monday, January 16.

DP Gachagua had come under sharp criticism over his dressing code during the 2022 election campaigns.

He however promised to lose weight and revamp his closet after he came to office on September 13, 2022.

"I put up this gym 15 years ago and after the state onslaught, I did not come here. I am in pretty bad shape as I have gained weight. Now that things have changed, I will be back.

"Many people have been raising questions about how I dress. I had no luxury to look at how I dressed. My eyes were always over my shoulders and taking care of my family. In three months, I will be in shape and they will love what they see," he stated.
