World Marathon record holder Eliud Kipchoge has revealed how former Education Cabinet Secretary George Magoha helped him to build a 100 million library at St Peter’s Kapsisiywa Secondary School in Nandi County.

In his condolence message, Kipchoge disclosed that the late Magoha helped him a lot in setting up the project.

“It’s with shock that we lost Prof. George Magoha, former CS for Education who has helped me a lot building the Eliud Kipchoge Library. My heartfelt condolences go to his family, friends and entire Kenya. Rest in Peace professor,” Kipchoge eulogized.

Retired President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2019 donated Ksh 100 million to fund the project after Kipchoge became the first human to run a marathon race in under 2 hours.

The late former Education CS George Magoha launched the project on August 3, 2022.

“Eliud Kipchoge Library whose construction works began one and half years ago is complete at a cost of Sh85million including a school gate, walkway, and perimeter wall,” Magoha said while launching the project.

He added, “The remaining Sh15 million will be used in the construction of 10 classrooms, an administration block and extension of the perimeter wall. The facility has books worth one million and 30 computers. Internet will be installed by the end of the week.”
