"Stop lying to Kenyans, Mr Deputy President Rigathi. This is a lie."

Thirdway Alliance Party leader Ekuru Aukot has dismissed claims by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua that the government is broke because of the Handshake government

Addressing a church service in Nyeri County on Sunday, Gachagua said the government was unable to pay salaries because of a huge borrowing spree.

He faulted the regime of former President Uhuru Kenyatta saying he left the country in a mess.

“It is true we are having challenges in paying salaries, giving money to governors. Because the handshake gov’t ripped this country, they borrowed money left right and centre. Because we are a responsible government, we have to pay this money,” he said.

But in a rejoinder, Ekuru took on Gachagua dismissing his notion of events.

"Stop lying to Kenyans, Mr Deputy President Rigathi. This is a lie," he said.

"If everything was looted, and since you're a "truthful & honest men," tell Kenyans;  how much did your swearing ceremony cost? How much does every church service cost? How will you pay the salaries & benefits of the 50 CASs?"

Aukot went on to query the DP on how they will meet the cost of the expanded executive he said the Ruto regime has created by appointing 24 CSs and the over 30 PSs as well as the creation of new offices outside the constitutional order.

"Your administration has also been globe-trotting with large delegations. How are you paying for this? What's the source of the KES 50 billion hustler fund, if you're indeed broke? Has KCB Group been paid for guaranteeing the hustler fund?" he posed.

"We saw what it would cost your administration to purchase new cars to the tune of KES 800+ million. Where is that money coming from if you're really broke? Our government is bloated. It needs "eno"."
