President William Ruto has made new appointments to three parastatals

President William Ruto has appointed former Awendo Member of Parliament Jared Odhiambo to chair the South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited Board of Directors.

According to a gazette notice released on Friday, April 14, Odhiambo will serve on the board for a period of three years.

“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (1) (a) of the State Corporations Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Kenya Defence Forces, appoint Jared Odhiambo Opiyo to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of South Nyanza Sugar Company Limited, for a period of three (3) years, with effect from the 14th April, 2023,” the gazette notice read.

The Head of State appointed Dr. Erick Rutto to be the chairperson of the Board of Trustees of the Water Sector Trust Fund for a period of two years. He will replace Billy Lay whose appointment was revoked.

President Ruto also appointed Engineer John Nyambok to be the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of Chemelil Sugar Company Limited. Nyambok will serve in the capacity for a period of three years effective today.
