"They are taking that value from the people, and they are making Kenyans poorer and I am so sad we have such a government,” All Saints Cathedral Provost Sammy Wainaina.

All Saints Cathedral Provost Sammy Wainaina has slammed the Kenya Kwanza government for not delivering the promises it made to Kenyans ahead of the 2022 general election.

Speaking on Saturday, May 13 during an interview with NTV, Wainaina accused the President William Ruto-led regime of taking value from Kenyans and making the poorer.

"The current government came on the promise of making Kenyans better, richer and they were to add value, today they are taking that value from the people, and they are making Kenyans poorer and I am so sad we have such a government,” said Wainaina.

The Provost at the same time called out religious leaders for allowing politicians to use church spaces for politics.

He claimed that most clergies in Kenya are compromised by corruption money and cannot challenge the government.

“The religious community opens their churches on Sundays for political rallies and politicians buy spaces. Many clergies in Kenya are compromised and that is why they can’t challenge a single government because they are beneficiaries of corrupt money.

“I said that in 2020, 2021 and I can say the same today, actually it's becoming worse,” he added.
