“If President Ruto calls me, I will go because the Azimio leader is Raila Odinga and I am the bunge la wananchi and ghetto president."

Calvin Okoth alias Gaucho now says that he is ready to meet with President William Ruto.

Speaking on Wednesday, June 7 during an interview, Gaucho said he will meet the Head of State if they will discuss the welfare of the youth.

“If President Ruto calls me, I will go because the Azimio leader is Raila Odinga and I am the bunge la wananchi and ghetto president,” said Gaucho.

He added,” He should however not take me as other MPs. We will discuss how many youths will go to the military or join the government.”

The bunge la wananchi president also noted that he would meet with President Ruto if he allows him to criticize some decisions that he might feel are wrong.

Gaucho at the same time denied claims that he is part of the Azimio la Umoja coalition saying he only worked with the opposition camp because they have similar goals.

“What made me work with Azimio is the issues affecting Kenyans, I am the bunge president in fact I am the one who started the anti-government protests with people from bunge la mwananchi and Azimio joined us,” he added.

His remarks come days after he faulted the Azimio leadership for abandoning him when he was arrested after the anti-government demos.

"When Maina Njenga is apprehended, close to four principals were there, but we are ignored and treated as second-class members when apprehended. It is really painful because we were the first to start this revolution,” Gaucho said on May 31.
