"I believe I would be speaking for millions of Kenyans, many of them those who voted for President Ruto," Miguna Miguna.

Lawyer Miguna Miguna has weighed in on the conduct of some of the Government officials in President William Ruto's administration.

In a statement via Facebook on Monday, June 19 Miguna singled out cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries, and heads of parastatals, reminding them of the responsibilities that come with power.

In the message that has gone viral on social media, Miguna told government officials to remember that power is transient.

"I believe I would be speaking for millions of Kenyans, many of them those who voted for President William Samoei Ruto and support his government, when I remind senior members of his government, especially cabinet secretaries, principal secretaries, and heads of parastatals and other important arms of the state, that Power comes with immense responsibilities," part of the statement read.

Miguna added, " Whatever you say or do when holding public office carries significant weight and reflects on your office and the government you serve, power is transient, you may have it today and lose it tomorrow. Always remember that and ultimately, whatever you do or say should serve the public good and advance public interests. If it doesn’t, avoid it."

Trade CS Moses Kuria

Miguna's statement comes in the wake of Trade Moses Kuria's sustained attack on the Nation Media Group after an expose on the importation of edible oil.

In the NTV expose, it was revealed that Kenyans lost Sh5.6 Billion to well-connected individuals who imported oil tax-free only to sell it to a Government agency at a higher price.

In addition, the expose revealed the companies were single-sourced and flouted KRA regulations. In response to the expose, CS Kuria threatened to fire Government officials who would advertise with the Nation Media Group.

In rejoinder, media stakeholders have condemned the threat by CK Kuria terming it a move to blackmail the press using revenues.

Here are some of the mixed reactions from Kenyans;
