"These are desperate individuals who are used to propaganda, blackmail and intimidation."

Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has dismissed claims that he solicited a Sh3 million bribe to offer protection to a woman, named Judy, who seemingly wanted a senate committee to exonerate her from blame.

This comes after a screenshot of an alleged conversation between Senator Cherargei and the lady went viral on social media.

The screenshot showed the phone number of the senator.

Details of the conversations showed that the person alleged to be the Senator wanted Sh3 million to sort out the chair, ostensibly of the committee and other members, to save the lady.

The screenshot further indicates Cherargei wanted the deal concluded before Tuesday.

The screenshot has gone viral on social media with a section of Kenyans demanding answers from the UDA leader.

In response to the accusations, Cherargei shared the viral screenshot and flagged it as fake.

"Ignore this Propaganda! Some hoodlums photoshopped my number. These are desperate individuals who are used to propaganda, blackmail, and intimidation," he said in a tweet.

He goes on to give a hint that the subject matter is about botched recruitment in Uasin Gishu where several lost money on a deal that was to see most of them go abroad for jobs.

"To the victims of allegedly being conned by First Choice Recruitment agency plus their families Justice shall be served in fullness of time. " The arc of the moral universe is long but it bends towards Justice! " Relax," he added.

First Choice Recruitment agency, whose CEO is Judy Chepchirchir, is under scrutiny after more than 200 youths in Uasin Gishu County accused it of promising them World Cup jobs in Qatar that did not materialise.
