" If I ever experience that, I will come forward and seek justice."

Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu has broken her silence on an accusation that she was assaulted by her baby daddy Samuel Muchoki alias Samidoh.

This comes in the wake of social media reports claiming that she was physically assaulted by the popular Mugithi Singer.

Images believed to have been of the assault incident were circulated on social media with a section of Kenyans alleging that she is a victim of Gender-based violence.

But in apparent clarification to the social media reports, Nyamu denied the reports.

She said she will never shy away from making public any gender-based violence directed at her saying the only time she was the victim is when she came out publicly to speak of it.

“People are making fun of gender-based violence thinking that they can use it to settle scores. I am here to raise awareness about GBV and to emphasize that it is not something to joke about.

"If I ever experience that, I will come forward and seek justice. I have not faced any physical abuse since the last time I talked about it,” Nyamu said in a video she posted on Facebook.

Last year, Nyamu shared a video on her social media pages alleging that Samidoh had assaulted her.

She went on to challenge those sharing misleading information about her to carry on saying she is not worried about it.

"You know I am not that person who would bother when people talk about me. Whatever you want to say about me I won't stop you. I really have no issue and when there is no discussion about me I get a bit worried," she added.

Nyamu and Samidoh have two children together.
