"The country cannot be held at ransom in regards to the reconstitution of IEBC,"  Murugara.

The Kenya Kwanza wing of the Bi-partisan talks has threatened to sanction the continuity of IEBC commissioners' recruitment.

This, they warned, is if Azimio la Umoja wing snubs the Tuesday Bi-partisan talks.

President William Ruto’s team led by Committee co-chair George Murugara, said the Kenya Kwanza side has given Azimio one last chance to salvage the Bi-partisan Talks.

Murugara said they Wil be inviting Azimio for talks for the last time on Tuesday to chart the way forward as far as the recruitment of IEBC bosses is concerned.

"The country cannot be held at ransom in regards to the reconstitution of IEBC. We are giving them the last chance," Murugara said on Tuesday.

"We will invite Azimio for a meeting on Tuesday, I will be communicating to my co-chair Otiende Amollo. If they fail that is it. We will move on," Murugara stated.

Azimio suspended Bi-partisan Talks faulting the Kenya Kwanza side for refusing to strike a compromise during the talks.

The talks were convened to end the Azimio countrywide protests that saw some properties destroyed especially in Nairobi.

Raila and Ruto agreed to end protests to allow for dialogue in contentious issues that were raised by the Azimio side among them, the recruitment of the IEBC bosses.

The warning by Kenya Kwanza side comes even as the Azimio team holds a rally in Kamukunji grounds.

The rally would announce their way forward on many issues among them, the signing of the Finance Bill into law.

Azimio had threatened to resume protests if the Finance Bill is passed.

The National Assembly passed the Bill last week and Ruto assented the Bill into law on Monday.
