Ahmednasir made reference to a court order that barred former NMS boss Mohamed Badi from attending Cabinet meetings.

Senior counsel Ahmednasir Abdullahi has raised concern after President William Ruto cleared four of his associates to attend Cabinet Meetings.

Ruto on Tuesday cleared his Advisors Monica Juma (National Security Advisor), David Ndii (chairperson of Council of Economic Advisors), Harriette Chiggai (Women Rights), and UDA Secretary General Cleophas Malala to be attending Cabinet meetings.

The four took their oaths of secrecy during the Cabinet Meeting on Tuesday.

But in response to the development, Lawyer Ahmednasir has raised doubt on the legality of the move saying the court had already pronounced itself on the matter.

He fingered attorney general Justin Muturi and Water CS Alice Wahome in questioning whether the order barring 'foreigners' in Cabinet meetings was presented before Ruto.

Muturi as AG is the principal advisor of the Cabinet on legal matters.

Wahome despite being a CS is a long serving lawyer.

"Did the Hon Attorney General Justin Muturi or CS Wahome bring to the attention of H.E Williams Ruto this judgment of the High Court that prohibits strangers to eavesdrop on meetings of the cabinet?" Ahmednasir tweeted.

The order referenced by Ahmednasir is one that was issued with regard to clearance of Former NMS Director General Mohamed Badi to attend Cabinet meetings.

Badi attended Cabinet meetings during the era of former President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Justice Mrima while ruling on the matter said his inclusion to Cabinet was an illegality since there was no justification for the same.

Mrima quashed the executive order okaying the former NMS boss to attend cabinet meetings and stopped him from performing functions of the Cabinet.

The order was however disregarded and Badi continued to attend the meetings.
