"Yesterday, I was attacked by an unknown group of armed men on my way to the Kamukunji rally but I thank God I was able to escape after sustaining serious injuries. I am currently in the hospital receiving treatment," he said in a statement on Facebook.

Gaucho has recently been embroiled in a war of words with Azimio over what he termed" unfair treatment" despite being one of the ardent supporters of Raila.

Recently, Gaucho vowed to keep off Azimio demos in the event they are sanctioned citing lack of appreciation by the Azimio team.

"I really pray to God the bi-partisan talks work. Because if they fail and there is a call for demos again, then I will just wish the Azimio team well going forward," Gaucho said.

The youth leader has been vocal in agitating for Azimio agenda but recently made a U-turn and said he is willing to engage President William Ruto’s camp.
