The MP has vowed to work with Ruto even as he insists on being in the ODM party. 

Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda has reiterated that he is still an ODM member despite having declared his support for President William Ruto’s administration. 

His sentiments come after Narok Senator Ledama Olekina said the Senator cannot be convinced otherwise as he is determined to work with President William Ruto. 

"Huyu Prof Ojienda Tom alienda Zamani…can’t convince him. And imagine he still introduces himself as ODM …Shida tupu!" Ledama tweeted. 

In a rejoinder to the sentiments shared by Ledama, Ojienda confirmed Ledama's claim saying he is indeed in ODM. 

ODM MPs who met President Ruto at State House Nairobi.

"I remain and will continue to be a member of ODM!….. Until further notice," he said. 

He went on to insist that he will work with the current administration citing that many of the leaders who are now in government were formally of the ODM party. 

"And I continue to work with William Ruto, who was also a member of ODM, and Rigathi, also a former member of ODM. Musalia Mudavadi, formerly a member of ODM," he said even though DP Rigathi Gachagua has never been an ODM member before. 

Ojienda is among a list of rebel ODM MPs who visited State House on Wednesday and declared support for President Ruto’s administration.  

The MPs have defied their ODM Party's key stands on issues among them the Finance Bill 2023 which is now an act. 

A majority of them voted for it even as the ODM party leadership declared opposition towards it. 

Other MPs who visited Ruto are Phelix, Odiwuor alias Jalang'o (Lang'ata) Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), Caroli Omondi (Suba South ), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem) Mark Nyamita (Uriri) and Paul Abuor (Rongo).
