“The goofs that Kenya is committing through her ministry of foreign affairs has monumental consequences to her international image."

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has called on President William Ruto to sack Foreign Affairs Cabinet Secretary Alfred Mutua following the cancellation of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s visit to Kenya.

Amisi in a statement on Tuesday, January 11 stated that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is committing blunders that will taint Kenya’s international image.

“The goofs that Kenya is committing through her ministry of foreign affairs has monumental consequences to her international image. The CS Dr. Alfred Mutua and one of his state department PS must be sacked today,” said Amisi.

He added, “They were brought to a docket that requires competence rather than political correctness. MFA is the first port of call of Kenya to the international community. It is not about Kenya kwanza or Azimio, we have no spare country.”

The ODM MP went on to say that he will not sit in the Foreign Relations Committee until CS Mutua has been sacked from the position or moved to a lesser Cabinet position.

“I will not sit in the committee of foreign relations until CS @ForeignOfficeKE is shown the door. They can be taken to the Ministry of Fisheries and Culture where they will perform marvelously,” Amisi stated.

This comes after President Raisi’s key meeting with President Ruto which was planned on Tuesday was rescheduled to a later date.

A red carpet had been rolled out, tents laid and all set for the Iranian President's visit only to be established that the Guest of honour was not forthcoming.

President Ruto had invited Raisi to the country for a three-day visit during which it was expected that talks will be held to boost trade relations.
