Shops were closed and major streets were deserted in anticipation of the protests.

Azimo supporters across the country have heeded the call by ODM leader Raila Odinga to Protest against President William Ruto's regime. 

Nairobi Leo has established that the protests have commenced in most parts of the country such as Mombasa, Kisumu, Kisii, Nyamira, Migori, and even some parts of Western Kenya.

In Kisii, some roads were barricaded by rowdy groups who mounted stones and burnt tires.

Heavy security patrols by regular police and the General Service Unit were visible in the streets in anticipation of chaos. Most shops remained closed in the CBD.

In Mombasa, Police were forced to lob teargas to disperse crowds that were charging for the protests.

Some roads in Mombasa's Central Business District remained deserted.

The shops were closed for the better part of Wednesday morning even as police readied themselves to quell the rebellion.

The Situation was no different in Nyamira and Kisumu counties as supporters of Azimio took to the streets to lit bonfires and barricaded the roads. 

Police engaged protesters in a running battle in a bid to maintain law and order.

In Nairobi, a heavy contingent of police officers was seen at Nairobi CBD in anticipation of Azimio protests. 

Thika Road Nairobi is deserted as a section of the road is blocked.

ODM leader Raila Odinga has announced that the first meeting will be at Kamukunji grounds and they will then proceed to CBD.

Police have however outlawed the protests.
