The Authority will be erecting a steel deck footbridge at the Stage hence the reason for the closure.

"The Kenya Urban Roads Authority (KURA) wishes to notify the general public that a section of Ngong’ road at the Kenyatta National Hospital stage will be closed off on Sunday, 23rd July, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m to allow for the erection of the steel deck footbridge crossing," Kinoti said.

Kenya Urban Roads Authority Director General Silas Kinoti.

He noted that the steel deck crossing is part of the footbridge being constructed at that location hence the need to close the road.

KURA has said motorists heading to the Nairobi CBD will be diverted to Valley Road while those heading to Mombasa Road will be diverted to Mbagathi Way.

"Motorists and pedestrians are advised to be careful when approaching this section and strictly follow diversions as guided by the traffic signs and the traffic marshals on site," KURA said.

"We request the public to be patient as we work to enhance pedestrian safety and urban mobility."
