The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed a new the Registrar of the High Court.

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has appointed Clarence Awuor Otieno as the Registrar of the High Court.

In a statement on Tuesday, July 24, JSC said Owuor’s appointment took effect on Monday, June 24 following a successful interview.

“The Judicial Service Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Hon. Clarence Awuor Otieno as the Registrar, High Court following a successful interview, with effect from 24th July 2023,” read the statement in part.

According to JSC, Awuor will oversee the coordination of support services in all High Court stations in the country.

Before the appointment, Awuor has been serving as an Acting Registrar of the High Court from 31st May 2023.

She joined the Judiciary in 2008 as a Resident Magistrate and rose through the ranks serving in the positions of Senior Resident Magistrate, Principal Magistrate, and Senior Principal Magistrate.

Prior to joining the Judiciary, Awuor worked as an Advocate at Ocharo and Company Advocates between 2004-2007, following her admission to the bar on 16th December 2004.

Awuor holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from Kenya School of Law.

This comes a month after the JSC appointed Kabucho Caroline Njeri as the Registrar of Magistrates Courts.

Kabucho oversees the coordination of support services in all Magistrates Courts.
