The LSK is demanding answers on the five issues listed within 7 days.

The Law Society of Kenya has written to the Inspector General of Police Japhet Koome demanding answers over five issues regarding the events that unfolded during the Azimio La Umoja  Protests Countrywide.

LSK president President Eric Theuri in the letter is demanding to know the number of persons arrested and detained since the start of the Azimio  La Umoja protests.

Theuri has also requested the IG to furnish him with information regarding the names of police stations and occurrence book particulars relating to all persons arrested and detained since the start of the protests.

"We also want to know the dates the arrested persons were arraigned as well as the number of people killed or dead since the start of the Azimio la Umoja demonstrations," Theuri stated in the letter seen by Nairobi Leo.

The LSK also want IG Koome to submit any documents relating to the postmortem or cause of death that the police may have in its possession relating to the deceased persons.

"We will appreciate receiving a response as soon as possible, but certainly no later than seven days from the date of the service of this letter," Theuri said.

The LSK said it is seeking this information because Interior CS Kithure Kindiki did not specify the information during his press statement on the demos.
