“Beware of the Bomas talks. Remember, you may not be as lucky as William Ruto."

Political Analyst Herman Manyora has urged Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to be careful on the Kenya Kwanza and Azimio negotiations.

In a statement via Twitter on Wednesday, August 16, Manyora warned Gachagua that he will not be lucky as President Ruto.

“Beware of the Bomas talks. Remember, you may not be as lucky as William Ruto. And you do have the resources he used to become president. My advice, Rigathi, is to always sleep like a hare, with your eyes wide open. Thank me with a plate of rice,” Manyora tweeted.

This comes after the bipartisan talks commenced on Monday at the Bomas of Kenya in Nairobi. The two coalitions agreed to have the dialogue team legally established in the National Assembly and the Senate.

National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah in a joint statement with Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka said the process will begin in the National Assembly this week.

The National Assembly is in session and the leadership shall process the same this week. The Senate is in recess but the Senate leadership shall process the same as soon as possible in a special session to be convened,” the statement read in part.

The co-chairs also mentioned that Azimio and Kenya Kwanza technical teams have been tasked to frame the agenda items for consideration by the dialogue committee and review the bi-partisan talks framework agreement to incorporate the negotiating teams' resolutions.

East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Kanini Kega has however threatened to move to court to stop the negotiations if the Jubilee Party is not represented in the talks.
