Sabina Chege has issued two demands to the Kenya Kwanza and Azimio dialogue teams.

Nominated Member of Parliament Sabina Chege now wants the Kenya Kwanza and Azimio negotiation teams to accommodate two issues from the Jubilee Party.

Speaking on Saturday, August 19, Chege said they will present a memorandum to the dialogue team seeking to criminalize protests by politicians who lose an election.

She noted that leaders who call for protests should be held accountable for damage to property done during demonstrations.

“Some of these issues is when somebody loses an election that they should not be going to streets and if they go to the streets, they should take responsibility for any damage made. You cannot be calling people to destroy property then you come and say you are doing peaceful demonstrations,” the Nominated MP stated.

Chege also said the Bomas talks should discuss the one man, one vote, one shilling issue which she says will ensure equitable distribution of resources.

“Part of it is about the one man, one vote, one shilling which is something that is very close to our heart. The population of a place needs to be given an equitable share and the cake must be shared equally. It doesn’t matter where you come from or who you voted for,” she added.

The demands come days after East Africa Legislative Assembly (EALA) Kanini Kega has threatened to move to court if the Jubilee Party is not accommodated in the fresh bipartisan negotiations.

Kega in a statement on August 15 said Jubilee is the third-largest political party in Kenya and ought to have been accommodated in the talks.

“If Jubilee Party will not be represented in the dialogue talks then we meet in court! fyi Jubilee is the 3rd largest Party in Kenya,” Kega tweeted.
