Atwoli decamped to Ruto's side and has since then sang the president's tune.

Central Organisation of Trade Unions (COTU) secretary general Francis Atwoli shared a platform with Azimio La Umoja leader Raila Odinga.

The two are gracing the send-off of COTU chair Rajab Mwondi in Vihiga county.

This would be their first meeting in public after Atwoli ditched Azimio for the President William Ruto-led Kenya Kwanza in December last year.

Since joining Ruto, the veteran trade unionist has been castigating Azimio which he constantly argues lost the 2022 general election due lack of adequate strategy.

Prior to the polls, Atwoli had vouched for a Raila presidency, dismissing any chances of Ruto succeeding Uhuru.

Meanwhile, Raila is slated to camp in the Western Kenya region after the president was there.
