Trouble started after Speaker Abdi Idle ruled that the UDM party was no longer a member of the Azimio coalition.

The party led by Senator Ali Roba declared allegiance to President William Ruto after the August 9, polls.

Speaker Abdi further directed that the UDM party is a member of the Kenya Kwanza coalition occasioning a push and pull in the Assembly that saw MCAs engage in a physical confrontation.

In the proposed list, the Majority party had settled on Mohamed Farah (Wiper) as the new Majority leader replacing Abubakar Khalif (ODM).

Sankuri MCA Abdirahman Borr is being replaced by Abdirahman Muktar as the Deputy Majority leader.

Ahmed Abdirahman was elected to the position of Majority Whip replacing Abdi Ibrahim. Mahat Abdikadir was picked as the new County Assembly Service Board member replacing Omar Abdi.

When the speaker was about to communicate the changes, the ousted MCAs brought the sitting to a standstill and asked the speaker to obey the court order.

The ousted team had obtained orders barring the speaker from communicating the changes to the house.

The push and pull saw the sergeant at arms swing to action and get hold of the mace even as the speaker adjourned the sitting.
