The meeting comes at a time when President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are out of the country for official visits.

Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kithure Kindiki on Thursday morning held a key meeting with regional Security bosses at the Harambee House office. 

The meeting, according to Kindiki, reviewed strategies fo the enhancement of service delivery in the coordination of government services.

It focused on both the delivery of function in the counties and the management of National Security through the established sub-national structures.

Present at the meeting were Regional Commissioners Abdi Hassan (Rift Valley), Fredrick Shisia (Central), Katee Mwanza (Nairobi), Paul Rotich (Eastern), Macharia Irungu (Western), John Otieno (North Eastern), Rhoda Onyancha (Coast) and Florah Mworoa (Nyanza).

"Internal Security and National Administration Principal Secretary Dr Raymond Omollo and Secretary, of National Administration Beverly Opwora in attendance," Kindiki said.

The meeting comes at a time when President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua are out of the country for official visits.

President Ruto left the country Wednesday night for the United States on a visit. DP Gachagua on the other hand left the country on Sunday for Colombia.

State House spokesperson Hussein Mohamed said in a statement that Ruto will visit Silicon Valley in San Francisco where he will meet with tech leaders of Microsoft, Intel, Google and Apple, among others.

The visit aims to enhance investment opportunities and trade relations with the US, he said, with a particular focus on nurturing Kenya's thriving start-up sector, 'Silicon Savannah'.

"The President will emphasise Kenya's young talent, green energy initiatives and its value as an alternative supply chain for American companies," Mohamed said.

The President's next stop will be in New York City where he will attend the 78th United Nations General Assembly session.
