Cynthia Andalo was released after being detained for a week over the death of Eric Maigo.

A woman arrested over the murder of the Nairobi Hospital Acting Finance Director Eric Maigo has been released. 

Maigo was killed in the wee hours of Friday, September 15, 2023, at his house in Woodley, Nairobi. 

Cynthia Lusego Andalo, who was arrested over the murder was set free after the prosecution told Milimani senior principal magistrate Bernard Ochoi that they had no evidence to charge or even continue detaining the suspect.

The investigation outcome file was forwarded to ODPP during which it was realised that the evidence was not enough to charge the accused.

The clothes of the minor suspected to have murdered the Nairobi Hospital Finance Director.

The release come a week after the police applied to detain her for five days pending further investigations.

The miscellaneous file was closed as the woman was set free.

Andalo's release comes even as the police are hunting down a minor believed to have been involved in the murder of the acting Finance Director.

A statement by the DCI on Friday claimed to have identified the suspect whom they say is aged between 15 to 17 years old.

The new details emerged after the DCI recovered clothes believed to have been worn by the suspected female minor in Kibra, Nairobi.

"The clothes a red checkered shirt and a grey pair of animal-print pants were found in a semi-permanent wooden shack in Bombolulu village, deep inside the sprawling Kibira settlement," DCI said.

DCI added that the suspect is said to have sat her KCPE examination at the Dagoretti-approved school between 2021 and 2022.

Detectives are appealing to anyone with information that may lead to the arrest of the murder suspect to report to the nearest police station.
